# Carine.lol — Bitcoin Wallet 0.6.5

A local Bitcoin mainnet wallet for Windows x64 and Linux x86_64. Create or restore a software wallet, or connect a Ledger/Trezor as a watch-only wallet that signs on the device. Carine.lol is a light client, not a full Bitcoin node or an anonymity tool.

## Install

Windows: run `Carine.lol-0.6.5-Setup.exe` or extract the portable ZIP. Setup installs for the current user without administrator rights. Wallet data stays separately in `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Carine.lol`; updating the app does not remove it.

Linux: extract this archive and run `./carine-lol-wallet`. Depending on your distribution, install the desktop runtime dependencies listed in the build documentation. App data is saved in `$XDG_DATA_HOME/Carine.lol` or `~/.local/share/Carine.lol` and remains separate from the application files. An update does not remove wallet data.

Write down and verify your seed backup before receiving funds. A forgotten password cannot be recovered without the seed.

## Ledger and Trezor

Choose “Ledger / Trezor” when creating a wallet. Connect and unlock the device, then open its Bitcoin app. Carine.lol requests only the BIP84 account xpub at `m/84'/0'/0'`; the wallet file contains no seed or private keys. When sending, the PSBT is signed on-device through the official Bitcoin Core HWI 3.2.0. Check the address and amount on the device display.

Linux may require official udev rules and USB access permissions; see https://github.com/bitcoin-core/HWI#udev-rules. No physical hardware wallet was attached in this build environment, so a specific device could not be tested.

## Language, appearance, and privacy

The interface supports Russian and English. By default, language and light/dark appearance follow desktop system settings; each can be overridden separately in Settings. The app does not send seeds or private keys to servers. Public Electrum servers can see the network IP address and queried wallet addresses.

## Build from source

Rust stable is required. Install the platform packages needed by eframe, OpenSSL, X11/Wayland, and USB access, then run `cargo build --release --locked`. The application source is distributed under the MIT License. Release packages include the separate license for the official Bitcoin Core HWI utility.

## Version 0.6.5

Adds a visible RU/EN selector and automatic desktop language and theme detection with independent manual overrides. The Linux build is updated from the same source revision as Windows.

Lightning, multisig, coin control, and a full verifying Bitcoin node are not included. Verify SHA-256 against `SHA256SUMS.txt` on the download page.

The project is actively maintained and used by its creators. Bugs and feature ideas: Telegram [@os_progger](https://t.me/os_progger).
